Argentina is situated by the Atlantic Ocean, bordered by Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. It is the second-largest country in South America (after Brazil) with a strategic location relative to sea lanes between the South Atlantic and the South Pacific Oceans. The climate is mostly temperate; arid in the southeast and subantarctic in the southwest. Argentina has deposits of lead, zinc, tin, copper, petroleum and iron ore.
