Senegal is situated by the North Atlantic Ocean, bordering The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali and Mauritania. It is the westernmost country on the African continent. The climate is tropical with a rainy season (May to November) and a dry season (December to April). In terms of natural resources, Senegal is rich in fish, phosphates and iron ore.
