Dr Ania Grobicki is Executive Secretary of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ania has degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and in Economics from the University of South Africa, together with a PhD in Biotechnology from Imperial College, London. Her experience and knowledge of water is extensive, and includes work on the water needs of industry, agriculture and energy, as well as research and practice related to water supply and reuse; water quality; water and health; effluent treatment technologies; and integrated catchment management.
Ania’s career has included experience in academia; in running her own consultancy business; and in international organizations. Within IWMI she led the Challenge Programme on Water and Food as its first Co-ordinator. Her more recent work has been in the fields of health and the environment. Prior to joining GWP, Ania was based at WHO in Geneva as Head of Secretariat for a multi-stakeholder forum on strengthening research for health, development and equity worldwide.
