GWP China Acting Chair at 2015 Boao Forum for Asia

The four-day 2015, from March 25 to 29, BOAO Forum for Asia (BFA) was held in the scenic town in Hainan Province with the theme of "Asia's New Future: Toward a Community of Common Destiny". This is the first top-level multilateral forum in China after the annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held earlier in March.

On March 28, 2015, Prof. Hao WANG, Acting Chair of GWP China and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering was invited to the Sub-Forum with the theme of "What's Up with Water & Soil?" during the 2015 BOAO Forum for Asia as one of panel members. At the Sub-Forum, he said, “the solution of river pollution in China needs to upgrade the emission standard.  It is recommended to develop the various management rules for different rivers/lakes”. Other panel members included Mr. Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University; Mr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsacker, Co-President of the Club of Rome; Mr. Patrick Bergin, CEO of African Wildlife Foundation; Mrs. Qiaonyu HE, Chair of Beijing Orient Landscape; Mr. Baoxing QIU, former Chinese Vice Minister of Housing and Urban/Rural Construction and Mr. Stephen Groff, Vice President of Asian Development Bank.

Before the closing ceremony of the BFA, the President Jinping XI, met Prof. Hao WANG and took the photo with him.
