New Bachelor's and Master's Degree on water integrity and sanitation officially presented

CWP Benin officially handed over the Bachelor and Master level Water Integrity and sanitation Units to the Director of the National Institute of Water (INE) in the presence of the first Vice-Rector of the University of Abomey-Calavi.

The ceremony took place in the INE conference room with the participation of the GWP WAf Chair, Professor Abel AFOUDA, INE teachers, Students, members of the Water Integrity Coalition.

This action is a contribution to the capacity-building activities of the water and sanitation stakeholders initiated in the context of the implementation of the multi-annual program for the promotion of integrity in the water and sanitation sector in Benin with support from the Water Integrity Network (WIN).

The objective is to train confirmed experts to work on the adoption and implementation of the principles of integrity in the management of water services at all levels of intervention, namely: transparency, redeployment and participation.

The GWP WAf chair as well as other speakers thanked CWP Benin and all the actors who contributed to the development of the teaching units: the teachers of the INE and the University of Abomey-Calavi, WIN Experts trainers, members of the WIN coalition, public water administration, regulatory structures, civil society organizations involved in the fight against corruption. This action is also in line with the commitment to integrate the course modules in the curricula for graduate students, bachelor and master of the INE and those of other Faculties of Abomey-Calavi University.
