In plenary sessions and working groups, the Consulting Partners, from more than 80 organisations and all members of the GWP network, contributed significantly to the development of the strategy.
Other sessions included a presentation of a recent donor-initiated External review and the Annual Report. The meeting also gave many of the GWP partners the opportunity to meet GWP Chair Letitia A. Obeng for the first time. “The meeting was an significant step for GWP. It showed that GWP will restrategize, reorganise and reenergize for the future. The members are the core of the GWP network and I was very impressed by participants’ ownership of GWP. It felt as though we were one big family with a common purpose,” said Letitia A Obeng.
GWP Acting Executive Secretary Martin Walshe, who also met with many of the GWP partners for the first time, concluded at the plenary closing session that the new strategy was “well received among the partners and that the discussions had been very constructive”. “Our task is to make sure that the new strategy will reflect the member’s vision for GWP in the years to come”, Martin Walshe said.
