The GWP-Med Secretariat has the overall responsibility for the coordination and day-to-day function of GWP-Med. It implements the oganisation's annual Work Plan responding to GWP's Strategy and manages all GWP-Med initiatives, programmes and projects. It is also responsible for the organisation’s outreach activities, and for promoting collaborations and synergies with other organisations, institutes and processes active in the Mediterranean.
The GWP-Med Head Office is based in Athens with an antenna Office in Tunis as well as staff based in Beirut, Ohrid, Podgorica, Pristina and Tirana.
The GWP-Med Secretariat is hosted by the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE), which legally represents GWP-Med (based on a Host Institute Agreement between the Global Water Partnership Organisation and MIO-ECSDE).
