Town-Watching Training of Trainers (TOT) - Malaysia Country Water Partnership

Community empowerment on flood resilient had been  implemented and became an important objective of Malaysia Country Water Partenership since the initiation of Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP). A competence trainers are therefore necessary and its the main reason behind the implementation of Town - Watching Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop on Flood Preparation-Community Safety Map During the Flood.

During the opening speech, NADMA's Deputy Director-General of Planning and Preparedness Sector Division, Mohamed Zahari Razali, said the disaster situation like the previous floods often occurs during the monsoon season between November and January each year, but now it is no longer predictable. In addition, he underline that the management of disaster is not only the responsibility of NADMA, but also another goverment agency such as APM (Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia). Should the disaster occurred, under the Order No. 20 National Security Council (MKN),  the  Federal goverment have to go to the state to assist the state and district governments in all aspects, including in terms of financial aid or logistics.
