The new chair to visit secretariat and regional partners

This was his first visit as the new Chair to the Secretariat to touch realities of his collaborators and have an overview of main issues to tackle by GWP at regional level. A regional workshop to review and finalize the project document on the "Dialogue on the Concerted Management of Groundwater in West Africa" ​​was held from 10 to 12 July 2013 in Koudougou, Burkina Faso. The meeting aims at among other things allowing a regional group of actors to get the same level of information about the initiative started some years ago, to discuss and amend the project document and reflect on the fund raising strategies for the implementation of the project. Regional Media capacity strengthened on Water Financing

Description : C:\Users\Projet GWP\Documents\Documents\La Chronique\2013\Juillet13\financement.jpgThe seventh regional workshop for capacity building of women and men in the media in West Africa was held from 1st to 5th July 2013 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. «Water Financing and the protection of the resource in West Africa" was the topic of this annual event attended by 35 journalists from 12 ECOWAS countries plus Mauritania. It was jointly organized by Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA) and the West and Central Africa Regional Office of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN-PACO). Gambia

Transboundary water: Gambian journalists to understand the UN 97 Water courses Convention

The meeting brought together about twenty (20) journalists from various media houses and freelance journalists from The Gambia with the aim to inform participants on the ratification process of the UN 97 Law on the use of international watercourses for purposes other than navigational in the country. Ghana: WACDEP officially validated and launched

Description : C:\Users\Projet GWP\Documents\Documents\La Chronique\2013\Juillet13\View of participantsokwacdep.jpgThe national meeting to validate and launch the Water, Climate and Development Programme  (WACDEP) in Ghana for ‘no/low’ regrets investments to increase access to water and sustainable development was held on 11th July, 2013 at Erata Hotel in Accra. The meeting was organised by the Ghana Country Water Partnership (G-CWP) in collaboration with the National Level Learning Alliance Platform (NLLAP) of the Resource Centre Network under the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing.
