Role of Partners

  • NDAs will lead in-country coordination of GCF stakeholders and liaise with the Partnership.
  • National and regional DAEs will lead translation of water project ideas into GCF concept notes.
  • Water ministries and other nominated water agencies by NDAs are responsible for originating project ideas, outlining needs for capacity development, and providing technical project information.
  • Global and regional technical partners will be responsible for supporting in-country capacity development and implementation.
  •  Development Partners will provide funding for the project and country level engagement of the Partnership, either through Implementing Partners or through other mechanisms.
  • GWP Country Water Partnerships will facilitate concept development, bringing key stakeholders together, fostering partnership at country level
  • Regional Water Partnerships in Asia, in concert with the Global Water Partnership will coordinate thePartnership at the Pan-Asia level and cross-continentally, at the Global levels respectively.

Partner Responsibilities and Obligations

  • Share knowledge and experiences on project preparation of GCF water projects
  • Evaluate and respond to requests for support from countries or entities seeking assistance to outline and implement a project-specific support plan
  • Provide technical support responding to country requests for GCF project preparation
  • Mobilize financial support and technical assistance for project preparation
  • Access to technical resources and knowledge on preparation of GCF water projects
  • Access to financial support and technical assistance for project preparation
  • Networking and partnership opportunities in project preparation
  • Access to portfolio of country project pipelines and potential project ideas for GCF
