Readiness of implementing Sri Lanka's Nationally Determind Contributions (NDCs)

The consultation is scheduled to be held from 13.30pm onwards on 15 November 2018 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMCH), Colombo.

Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) in collaboration with the Climate Change Secretariat of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment is organising a stakeholder consultation to review the “Readiness plan for implementation of Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in Sri Lanka 2017 – 2019” as a preparation for the upcoming COP 24 which will be held in December 2018 in Katowice, Poland.

Sri Lanka’s INDCs consists of INDCs on mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, and means of implementation. It focuses on 14 sectors and consists of unconditional as well as conditional INDCs.  The ministerial representatives from 14 sectors have been invited for the consultation, who will be reviewing the status of their sectors in groups that will be presented to the Secretaries of relevant Ministries later at the meeting. GWP SAS will be discussing the possible contributions of Global Water Partnership for implementing INDCs in Sri Lanka.
