Grenada - Enabling Environment

Action 7 - Conduct review of policies related to IWRM

In 2019, GWP Caribbean, the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and the Government of Grenada (GOG), under the lead of the Ministry of Finance, brought together stakeholders from government ministries and agencies, development partners NGOs, civil society, and the private sector to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Grenada. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action to be included in an action plan.

The purpose of this action is to foster an enabling environment for IWRM implementation by conducting a review of policies related to IWRM. In particular the policies that will be targeted are: (i) regulation for cisterns (water supply for all new buildings and water demand assessment), and (ii) cooperation among the partners to enforce laws.
