In 2019, the Directorate-General for Natural Resources and Energy with the support of the Sao Tome and Principe Country Water Partnership brought together stakeholders from national and local government agencies, development partners, and NGOs to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Sao Tome and Principe. The following action was defined as part of that process and included in an action plan.
The purpose of this action is to ensure sustainable and efficient management of water resources by guaranteeing adequate water allocations to strategic economic sectors or to contribute to sustained economic diversification.
