In 2019, the Directorate-General for Natural Resources and Energy with the support of the Sao Tome and Principe Country Water Partnership brought together stakeholders from national and local government agencies, development partners, and NGOs to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Sao Tome and Principe. The following action was defined as part of that process and included in an action plan.
The purpose of this action is to introduce measures to show the economic value of water. This includes rehabilitating aged infrastructure to reduce significant losses in the distribution system.
