GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

GWP at COP17

GWP continues its urgent advocacy for better water management as a key response to the impact of climate change on people.

The GWP delegation to the UNFCCC negotiations in Durban, South Africa 28 November - 9 December 2011 (COP 17) is led by GWP Executive Secretary Dr Ania Grobicki, with representatives from GWP regions and GWPO, as well as the Executive Secretary of AMCOW, Mr Bai Mass Taal. GWP activity at COP17 includes a GWP booth where COP17 delegates can find more information, as well as the following events:

Stakeholder Consultations on the Framework for Water Security and Climate Resilient Development, and AU Water Sector Monitoring Southern Africa consultations on 30 November (GWP, AMCOW, SADC, GIZ-AU, CDKN)
Ensuring Water Security in Africa in the Face of a Changing Climate: Mainstreaming Water in Climate Change Talks, GWP Executive Secretary is a panelist in the side event on 1 December organised by AU, ECA and African Development Bank
Water, Climate and Development Day on 3 December at the Africa Pavilion (in cooperation with AU, AMCOW, GWP, AfDB, WCC, UNECA) Report from the event.
