GWP South Asia

The aim of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) is to support South Asian countries in the sustainable development and management of their water resources and to fully promote and apply an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) approach at the community, national and regional levels.

  • MR ISWER RAJ ONTA (1942-2016)

    Mr Iswer Raj Onta, Regional Chair Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) (2013-2015), passed away on Sunday, 6 March 2016. The entire GWP Network is saddened by his departure and it is a great loss to the South Asia Region.

    GWP Nepal/Jalsrot Vikas Sanstha (JVS) has prepared an adaptation plan for Lamatar Village Development Committee (VDC) of Lalitpur district, Kathmandu Valley where nearly 9,000 people live in over 1,400 ha.

    The 21st Regional Council (RC) Meeting of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) was held on 7 and 8 October 2015 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Concerns and matters related to GWP SAS have been discussed and made decisions over the issues at the meeting.
