Our organisation’s mission is to contribute to the implementation of the IWRM principles and to develop information and experience exchange amongst partners.

Why did you decide to become a GWP Partner?

We decided to become a GWP partner to improve the efficiency of our activities in the sphere of IWRM, due to the existing complicated situation in water management and the ongoing policy of the Kazakhstani government on multisectoral water resources management.

What have you found to be the benefits of being a GWP Partner?

Awareness rising activities, IWRM knowledge and experience exchanges together with the support for country-subdividing regions in sustainable water resources management.

What is one challenge facing the management of water resources in your area of expertise?

1. Dealing with water security problems, the effective usage of water resources under the conditions of climate change and the integrated approach to water resources management in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Managing transboundary water resources on equal terms for all the members of the water community.

Are there any special projects or initiatives that you would like more widely known?

We have to build a unified system of water security, which will guarantee not only water for basic needs, but also opportunities of water resources conglomeration in every administrative body depending on the region’s needs. It has to maintain the ecosystem on the ground of the innovative methods and approaches of water resources management in cooperation with the neighboring countries and cross-border regions.
