As part of the project “Real-time Flood Risk Mapping” financed by the Adaptation Fund through the AFCIA program, two automatic multi-parameter stations were successfully installed in the rural commune of Koula from December 18 to 22, 2025.

The Mono Basin Authority (MBA), in partnership with the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA), today launched in Lomé the regional workshop to validate the consolidated draft report of the mission to develop the Methodological Guide for the formulation and implementation of the Mono Basin Water Charter.
The Assembly of Partners of the Global Water Partnership – West Africa (GWP-WA) has officially confirmed the appointment of Mr. Amadou Lamine NDIAYE as Executive Secretary, marking a significant milestone for governance and regional dynamics in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
On December 5, 2025, in Ouagadougou, Wetlands International Sahel Office (WISO) and the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the start of strengthened cooperation for sustainable water resource management, wetland conservation, and biodiversity protection in the Sahel region.
During the 12th Partners’ Assembly of GWP-WA, the Manual of Best Practices for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the UEMOA region was officially launched. This document marks a major step forward for water governance and regional cooperation.
The West Africa Regional Water Partnership (GWP-WA) held its 12th Ordinary Assembly of Partners (AP) under the theme: “Supporting Water Valorization to Transform West Africa.”
This strategic meeting, organized via videoconference, brought together 35 partners from public institutions, regional organizations, NGOs, the private sector, and technical and financial partners.
