About thirty participants took part in the training workshop on the integration of integrated water resources management (IWRM) in local development planning tools in the Mekrou Niger sub-basin from 19 to 21 December in Dosso, Niger.

The objective was to harmonise participants' understanding of IWRM and the approach to its integration into local development planning processes.

The training workshop was part of the implementation of the Water for Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin of Niger Project (Mekrou Phase 2-Niger Project, 2020-2023), implemented by the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Sanitation (MHA) of Niger and the Country Water Partnership of Niger (CWP-Niger). The Mékrou Phase 2-Niger Project is financed by the European Union (EU) through the Delegation of the European Union (DUE) in Niamey for an amount of EUR 999,986 over a 42-month period.
