A Night for water in Togo to award youth engagement

The National Youth Parliament for Water of Togo (PNJE Togo) organized on 7 April 2017 the second edition of the Water Night in partnership with the collaboration with the Council for Basic Sanitation in Togo (CCABT).

This is an event to distinguish actors in the water sector who have invested their support for the youth to be engaged in the sector but also through their investments to improve access to Drinking water and sanitation in Togo. It is also an opportunity for the PNJE Togo to thank the partners for their support and to present new initiatives carried out by youth organizations.

The evening awarded the "drop of excellence" trophies following an investigation and presented certificates of recognition to the institutions that supported the PNJE Togo in its initiatives during the year.

Trophées UEThe trophy of the technical and financial partners was handed over to the European Union delegation in Togo for their financial support to the projects of the youth organizations but also and especially the large investments (more than 100 million euros) for access to water and sanitation in the country.

The NGO Eau Vive received the trophy of the civil society for its actions in favor of the youth in particular the program Young Engaged executives (JCE), the internship program and also for the projects implemented in 2016.

Recognition certificates were awarded to Global Water Partnership-West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Urban and Semi-Urban Water and Sanitation Water Supply and Sanitation Society (SP-UAU) for their support to the initiatives of the PNJE Togo.

 TrophéesThe book on the "Collection of legal texts on water and sanitation in Togo", containing all the policies, laws, regulations and decrees relating to the water and sanitation sector in Togo produced by The CCABT was presented as a solution to the scattering of texts in the sector and facilitating the intervention of the actors on the ground. A second book entitled "The Oath for Water", written by the Francophone youth at the COP21 held in Paris with the support of GWP and other partners, was presented.
