Water Star competition laureates awarded

The young artist competition committed to water and environment called Water Star in Burkina Faso ended on Friday, June 29, with an award ceremony presided by the representative of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation of Burkina.

In attendance were also the technical advisor of the Minister of Environment and livelihoods, the chair of CWP Burkina, Director of Eau Vive Burkina, the representative of the Director of 2IE which granted its biggest conference room in addition to hundreds of young people.

The 16 finalists competed in the three identified categories: Poems/Slam, Drawing/Cartoon and Photography. The three winners of each category were announced by the Jury after each competitor has performed.

The laureates were awarded for the 1st prize a cash of FCFA 100,000 in addition to gifts from GWP and other partners; for the 2nd prize a cash of FCFA 50,000 in addition to gifts and for the 3rd prize FCFA 25,000 in addition to gifts.

GWP WA and the Burkina CWP were both members of the Jury.
