Mono basin expert group validates Strategic plan document

The Mono Basin Authority (MBA) held a workshop to validate the report document of the new strategic plan 2023-2027 of the basin. The meeting took place on October 18 to 20, 2022 in Grand Popo (Benin). The official ceremony was led by Mr. Christophe Mègbédji, prefect of the department of Couffo and chair of the Mono Basin Management Committee in Benin.

The meeting aims to validate the report on the elaboration of the new strategic plan 2023-2027 (SP 2023-2027). Specifically, it aims to: (i) restate the vision, the themes, the strategic objectives, the targets of the MBA action as well as the results and priority actions related to it for the period 2023-2027; (ii) amend the multi-year action plan 2023-2027 of MBA and the monitoring-evaluation mechanism of the action plan; (iii) amend the results of the analysis of the institutional and organizational framework of the MBA and the broad lines of the strategy for mobilizing funding for the implementation of the 2023-2027 SP; (iv) improve the budget of the 2023-2027 SP; and (v) have the 2023-2027 SP validated by the development actors of the Mono basin.

A total of 35 people attended the workshop, representing the ministries in charge of water, environment and agriculture of Togo and Benin, the Basin Committee, the local authorities, the Platform of CSOs in the basin, the AGIR Eau and WACA projects, the regional institutions and basin organizations and resource persons.
