GWP at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Water Summit

The Third Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) will take place on 11-12 December in Yangon, Myanmar. The event is jointly organised by the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) under the overarching theme “water security for sustainable development”.

GWP will have strong representation at the event, with participants arriving from the global GWP secretariat, the GWP Technical Committee, as well as participants from GWP South Asia, GWP South East Asia, GWP Central Asia and Caucausus and GWP China.

On 12 December, GWP is co-organising a session together with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) under the theme "Working Together: Multi Stakeholder Partnerships (MSPs) for Regional Cooperation".

The main objective of the session is to share successful examples of MSPs and their impacts on regional cooperation in the Asia Pacific region to address common challenges of the region.

The session will also highlight good examples of transboundary data/knowledge sharing, transboundary river water sharing, flood event information sharing, and regional networks established for regional cooperation where policy makers, experts, planners, and practitioners can exchange data, information, ideas and perspectives towards achieving common solution.
