World Toilet Day 2018

World Toilet Day, celebrated on 19 November, is about taking action to ensure that everyone has a safe toilet by 2030. This is part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: sanitation and water. The 2018 theme of the day is "When Nature Calls". On the occasion of the day, GWP will do a Facebook Live interview with Kanika Thakar, Founder of #ToiletTalk.

There are nowhere near enough safe toilets in the world. Worldwide today, 4.5 billion people – that’s 500 times the number of Tokyo residents – live without safely managed sanitation. And, 892 million people – 42 times the population of Lagos – go to the toilet in the open.

UN-Water and Partners encourage everybody to share a set of social media cards that highlight a range of different issues, encouraging your followers to think about World Toilet Day in a new way.

Find all materials and spread the word om the event website.
