Water Dialogues for Results High-Level Conference

The Water Dialogues for Results are an initiative by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), on behalf of the German government. On 1 July, the results of the international water dialogues is presented in form of a High-Level Conference on SDG 6 in Bonn. H.E. Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, Chair of GWP South Africa, is one of the speakers.

Together with other UN member states, representatives of the UN Major Groups and international organisations, the BMU recognises that the global water and sanitation crisis calls for an immediate global response.

To that end, the BMU holds a virtual dialogue series that aims at accelerating the cross-sectoral implementation of the water-related goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is part of the official preparatory process for the Mid-term Review of the UN Water Action Decade in 2023.

The High-Level Conference on 1 July will be streamed live on the dedicated event website.

The Chair of GWP South Africa, H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, will address the event with a call to accelerate action on SDG 6 implementation in Africa.
