GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Zanzibar Water Conference 2023

Conference organized by the Zanzibar Ministry of Water, Energy and Minerals, Southern African Development Community, Groundwater Management Institute, Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, Tanzania Water Partnership, Hekima Ni Uhuru & IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.

During a time when Zanzibar is implementing the 2022-2027 Zanzibar Water Investment Programme, the 2023 Zanzibar Water Conference brings together a diverse group of water stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experience, and showcase their products or services while identifying potential collaborative opportunities.

The conference also comes at a time when Zanzibar is celebrating their World Water Champion i.e His Excellency Dr. Hussen Ali Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar and the Chair of the Revolutionary Council who was awarded the Global VIP Water Changemakers Award at the 2023 UN Water Conference. The global recognition award is bestowed to national leaders who have demonstrated high-level leadership and commitment in initiating climate resilient water investments at country level. The Global VIP Changemakers Award is coordinated by the World Bank, GWP and Korea Water Corporation (Korea-K).
