GWP Hungary raises water awareness at universities

Dr. József Gayer, Chair of GWP Hungary delivered presentations about integrated water resources management during Water Saving Weeks at 7 universities and colleges across Hungary in March and April 2012.

Somogy County Public Foundation of Protecting Youth’s Rights (Somogy Megyei Ifjúsági Jogvédő Közhasznú Alapítvány) launched university road show “Water Saving Weeks” by end of March 2012.

A team comprising Prof. Ferenc Ligetvári, Dr. József Gayer of GWP Hungary, Dr. Maria Papp, and Dr. Endre Juhász delivered lectures about current and future water related challenges, protecting water resources, ways and means of saving water in everyday activity, restoring aquatic habitats, public participation and reuse of waste water.

“The Water Saving Weeks program is well designed to raise student’s awareness about sustainable water use, prevention of water pollution, practical water-saving solutions, getting involved in river basin management planning as well as application of alternative solutions to water management”, says Dr. Gayer.
