IDMP releases three new videos on pilot actions

The first phase of the Integrated Drought Management Project in West Africa (IDMP-WA) has come to an end last December with very promising results.

The project launched on 28 and 29 January 2015 in Ouagadougou targeted three countries, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. Among the main actions carried out are the synthesis of reviews of initiatives/institutions in the target countries, capacity building of stakeholders on drought risk management in the context of IWRM and the implementation of pilot projects in each of the three target countries.

The videos that have just been released are trying to capitalize on the implementation of the pilot actions.

In Mali, the film brings out the Water and Soil Conservation and Soil Protection and Restoration actions implemented to increase agriculture, forestry and pastoral productivities as well as Communication actions for adaptation to the effects of climate change. This video can be seen here:

In Niger, women action is at the forefront with the Development of an off-season cultivation site for women in the village of kankantouti, in the department of Torodi. This video is available here:

The film on Burkina pilot action focusses on Promoting innovative practices of resilience to drought by setting up a multipurpose agroforestry park in the municipality of Komki-Ipala
