Disseminating the review on the management of the water and sanitation sector 2018 and sharing the report on the integrity risks mapping in Benin

From 26 to 29 November 2019, a tour was organized to disseminate at the local level, reviews on the management of the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation sectors. The results of the report on the mapping of integrity risks in the said sector were also shared in a separate meeting.

The two workshops were successively organized on 26 and 27 November in Parakou in northern Benin and brought together actors from the departments of North and Collines, then in Bohicon in the Centre on 28 and 29 November, with actors from the southern departments.
These workshops were attended by about sixty participants including communicators from the national level, namely, the General Directorate of Water, the National Directorate of Public Health, the General Directorate of the National Water Company of Benin (Soneb), CWP-Benin and the National Framework for Consultation of Non-State Actors in Water and Sanitation (CANEA).
The participants come from the Municipalities and particularly the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Managers (REHA) of the Town Halls, the members of the Drinking Water Consumers' Associations (ACEP), the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) of the sector, the Local Water Partnerships (PLE) of the region.
The 2018 water and sanitation sector management results and information feedback Sessions aim to contribute to the promotion of accountability in the water and sanitation sector at national, departmental and local levels.
Stakeholders were informed on the use of a new online App. Called "Communes 229" and the "Water Alert" section of the website: "www.alert-eau.bj/".
The workshop on the sharing of results of the integrity risks mapping in the water and sanitation sector aims to contribute to raising awareness among stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector, as well as political and technical decision-makers at local level, of the main risks to integrity in the water and sanitation sector in Benin and to raise their awareness of the need to promote the principles of good governance in the sector.
