Togo, GWP-WA Executive Secretary exchanges with partners on the revitalization of the CWP

The Executive Secretary of GWP-WA, Mr. Armand HOUANYE, on a working visit to Togo, met on 19 February 2019 with national partners to discuss the revitalization of the Togo Country Water Partnership (CWP Togo).

 Present at this meeting were the chair of CWP Togo, Mr. Abdoulaye TRAORE-ZAKARI, the WSA Resident Representative in Togo, Mr. Waïdi LAWANI, Ms. Ella AKOEGNON, WSA Project Assistant and Mr. Flamay AHIAFOR, Technical Assistant of Eau Vive Togo. 

The participants agreed on that a general assembly be organized to relaunch the activities of the CWP in Togo. To this end, technical group will be set up to lead the preparatory activities for the next general meeting including the development a budgeted roadmap.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to involve the Ministry in charge of water, to clarify the role of the CWP (to support the State in advancing the implementation of IWRM by facilitating the effective mobilization and participation of all stakeholders).

The timetable drawn up highlights a number of actions to be taken by 30 April 2019, the deadline for holding the General Assembly of partners for the renewal of the bodies and the relaunch of the CWP.
