A workshop for defining the operational framework for WACDEP 2

A two-day WACDEP workshop was held on 19-20 February 2018 in Ouagadougou to facilitate the implementation process of the Programme to achieve the expected results at regional level and in the beneficiary countries.

The meeting brought together the Executive Secretariat of the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) and the project managers at the level of Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) from the four target countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Mali.

The meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the activities carried out and the results achieved in 2017, while drawing the necessary lessons learned.

A clear approach for positioning and accompanying GWP-WA and CWPs to help advance the implementation of adaptation planning processes and mobilization of climate financing was defined.

The participants also defined operational modalities to continue the successful implementation of the Programme in the region.

Exchanges also focused on the implementation in beneficiary countries of the "Programme - Acceleration of investments for food security in Water - Energy - Food - Ecosystem Nexus in West Africa" and the initiative on integrated flood management in the Volta basin.
