Benin CWP staff trained on Procurement

A trained session was organized on 21 and 23 November 2016 by the Country Water Partnership of Benin to strengthen the capacity of its staff and some representatives of the CWP bodies on procurement issues in Benin.

The aim of this training is to improve the procurement process abilities of the National Coordination of CWP-Benin. The training was carried out by Smart Managers& Solutions (SMS).

This was an opportunity for the participants to become acquainted with the various types of public procurement that exist in Benin; the scope of the Bill of Law n ° 2009-02 of 07 August 2009 on the code governing public contracts and public service delegations; the general and fundamental procurement principles; the Institutional framework and stakeholders in the public procurement cycle; the public procurement thresholds and the limit of competence of the supervisory bodies; the  conditions for approval of government procurement and approval authorities and the texts governing public procurement in Benin.

Case studies on practical issues were done to help for a better ownership of learning outcomes. The firm SMS will assist CWP Benin coordination reform its procurement procedures.
