Burkina Faso NDA organizes structured dialogue

The National Designated Authority (NDA) of Burkina Faso organized on 20 February 2020, the second National Structured Dialogue on the Green Climate Fund (GFC) in Ouagadougou. The overall objective was to strengthen the synergy of actions between stakeholders for a greater mobilization of Green Climate Fund financing for the benefit of Burkina Faso.

Some sixty participants from the public administration, local authorities, the private sector, NGOs and associations as well as technical and financial partners attended the meeting.

This was an opportunity to inform the participants of the progress in the implementation of projects and programmes involving the country and financed by the Green Climate Fund, to present and exchange on the working tools developed by the executive secretariat of Burkina Faso GCF and other partners, to report on the implementation of preparatory support to the country by the Green Climate Fund and resent the draft decree on the establishment of a formal framework for a national structured dialogue on the Green Climate Fund.

The dialogue framework called for the Executive Secretariat to make advocacy to facilitate the implementation of certificate and/or diploma courses in climate finance in an academic framework and/or a national professional training centre.

The official ceremony was chaired by the Prime Minister, represented by the Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Office.
