Capacity building workshop for members of the Gbadohouin Local Water Committee

The water users of the Gbadohouin hydrological unit faced problems related to the weak governance of the resource. To address this situation, a Local Water Committee (LWC) was established.

A  capacity building training session targeting the members of the Local Water Committee was organized from April 28 to 30, 2021 in Gboa in the municipality of Bonou, Benin.

The capacity building training session was delivered by CWP-Benin thanks to the financing from the Governance Component of the Omidelta program. A technician from the Local Water Partnership of Ouémé and Plateau facilitated the session. The training focused on advocacy and IWRM. Participants were familiarized with the advocacy techniques as well as with the IWRM approach and its four principles.

Each theme of the training session was role-played to allow participants to appropriate it. These role plays were well appreciated by the participants who expressed their satisfaction with the training.
