This has prompted the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry to send a letter to the Attorney General’s Chambers /Ministry of Justice as a follow up for the finalization on the bills at that end for submission to the Cabinet and National Assembly by the Water Resources Minister for the ratification of the UN 97 Convention and the enactment of the other bills.
The pending Bills were developed from the concluded National Water Sector Reform Project for creating the legal and enabling environment for effective implementation of Gambia’s IWRM Roadmap. They are the Gambia Water Bill, the National Water Resources Management Authority Bill and the Gambia Metrological Authority Bill.
