The team briefed them on GCWP activities and exchanged on IWRM in the Gambia highlighting planned programmes and constraints.
The minister and PS expressed gratitude for the efforts of the CWP and praised the partnership for its achievements despite working with very limited resources. They promise to ensure that the ministry together with the Departments under the ministry support GCWP. The minister instructed PS to liaise with Director of Water Resources to fix offices with facilities for use by the partnership. He further instructed the PS to link with one project Coordinator (identified) to fix a vehicle to be allocated to the partnership to ease mobility constraints.
The minister promised that the ministry will create a budget line in the 2019 Budget to be given to GCWP as subvention to supplement its operational expenses. He said that he will be expecting more meetings with the team and more briefings. He requested that progress reports be made available to the PS for updates on GCWP activities. He promised to link GCWP with other government ministries and any other support that his ministry can provide.
