Guinea, CWP negotiating with partners to implement reviewed action plan

After the regional mission in February, the CWP Guinea has reviewed its 2018-2019 action plan to include proposals and activities discussed during the mission with various partners. The reviewed plan focusses on Policy Influence and Visibility of the CWP, Communication and knowledge management; Strengthening partnerships and governance; and Mobilization of financial resources.

To be able to raise funding and take into account concerns raised by strategic partners, the CWP leadership is about to conclude negotiation processes for agreements with the Guinean Water Company (SEG) to be the host institution of the CWP; expectations are that a partnership agreement be signed with the General Directorate of Hydraulic fund (DGFH) as well.

The CWP vice chair, Mrs. Mariama Dalanda DIALLO has participated in two workshops organized by UNICEF on the 5th annual review of the Joint Programme for Accelerated Access to Water and Sanitation for All on 12 to 16 March 2018. The second one by the Senegal River Basin Organization (OMVS) on the “diagnostic analysis of regulatory texts and national legislation with support for Guinea in harmonizing these texts with the OMVS framework in order to integrate the measures necessary for the application of the Senegal River Water Charter".
