GWP-WA Chair honored at Africa 21 Forum in Casablanca, Morocco

Africa 21 is an African Forum covering three strands of major importance for the continent. Linked and complementary, they deal with Water Security, Energy Sovereignty and Food Independence in the era of climate change, desertification and issues related to growth in the era of the 21st century. For this first edition, the focus is on technological innovations in each of these sectors!

The Africa 21 Forum covers three major areas of importance for the continent in the 21st century: Water Security, Energy Sovereignty and Food Independence. This edition will be inaugurated on Tuesday 21 February by a plenary session under the theme: "Water-Energy-Food Nexus: King Mohammed VI's vision for a resilient and sovereign Africa", in the presence of official entities and African and international organisations, in addition to the Moroccan ministries in charge. The Chair of GWP-WA, Mr. Abdoulaye SENE, made an intervention at the opening ceremony, and was awarded the Africa 21 Prize of Honour in consideration of his commitment and in appreciation of all his efforts to make Africa shine.

GWP-WA and beyond the entire GWP Network feels honoured and congratulates Mr. SENE for his constant commitment to the promotion of sustainable development and particularly the water sector in Africa. The GWP-WA Chair said he was honoured with the award in recognition of the "historic success of the 9th World Water Forum and the Blue Deal on Water Security in Dakar, Senegal".

It is an honor for the GWP network that you will be receiving this Award, and it is a great recognition of your long-standing dedication and accomplishments to advance water security in Africa and globally.
