Mali CWP develops an IWRM directory

The Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Mali is very much in line in the implementation of IWRM in the country. After sensitizing various categories of actors, the CWP has recruited a consultant to develop provisional IWRM directory report. The consultant was asked to draw up a document called IWRM Directory on good water management practices in the different sectors.

The mission included identifying and capitalizing water management good practices (modern and traditional) in the different water sectors in Mali (agriculture, livestock, fishing, water supply, etc.), analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each practice and make proposals for improving water resource management according to the use or the sector.

A workshop was held on 27 February 2020 to amend and validate the draft report. The workshop brought together representatives of technical services, NGOs, Civil Society and research institutions. The CWP chair, Mr. Navon CISSE thanked all the participants and asked them to give their opinion on the quality of the report presented by the BERE Consulting firm. He also thanked the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the PCA-IWRM and the Government of Mali who is the financial partner of the activity.

Amendments will be integrated to finalize the report.
