The Session was also attended by Mr. Bolidja TIEM, Minister of Water and Village Hydraulics of the Togolese Republic.
The Session of the Council of Ministers was preceded by the preparatory meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts of the Mono Basin Authority, held from 16 to 18 January 2023 in the conference room of the Hotel du Lac in Cotonou, Republic of Benin.
After examining the report of the Technical Committee of Experts, the Ministers congratulated the Experts for the quality of the document produced. They welcomed the availability and commitment of the Technical and Financial Partners to support and accompany the MBA in achieving the objectives assigned to it.
After discussions, the Ministers adopted (12) Resolutions and urged the Executive Management of the MBA to continue its efforts to diversify the sources of funding for its activities. They took note of the presentation of the various projects in progress and in preparation by the Executive Management of the Mono Basin Authority;
In addition, Mr. Bolidja TIEM, Minister for Water and Village Hydraulics of the Togolese Republic, was designated to chair the Council of Ministers of the MBA in 2023.
GWP-WA Executive Secretary, Mr. K. Armand HOUANYE took part in various activities of the 5th Ministerial session.
