Mono Basin sets up its CSO Platform ( POSC MONO)

The Constitutive General Assembly of the Platform of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of the Mono Basin was held on Friday 8 December 2017 in Lomé, Togo. It brought together CSO delegates from Benin and Togo with the support of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), through the Partnership for Environmental Governance Programme (PAGE).

The MONO CSO Platform (OSC Mono) is an instrument for strengthening dialogue  between the Mono Basin Authority (ABM), CSOs, States Parties and local communities in the Mono Basin.

Fifteen (15) invited delegates per country took part in this important Constitutive General Assembly, which established the Board of Directors (CA) composed of seven people representing three (3) structures in Benin (Queen NATABOU ADJIGNON Foundation, AVPN and JVE BENIN) and four (4) structures in Togo.
The Statutory Auditors' Office (CC) composed of two persons representing the CDAC (Togo) and FNDH (Benin) was established.
The heads of the National Coordinations, namely: Eau Vive (Togo) and PNE-Benin (Benin) were also designated.
The main objective of the Platform is to ensure the representation of all civil society organizations, to mobilize and defend the interest of local communities for their participation in decision-making related to the sustainable development of the Mono basin. CWP Benin attended the Assembly.
