VFDM holds gender inclusion trainings in the Volta basin countries

The project « Integrating flood and drought management and early warning for climate change adaptation in the Volta Basin (VFDM) » financed by the Adaptation Fund held the remaining two training sessions in the series of six in the Volta basin countries.

These training sessions aimed to build the capacities of the actors of the national portion in each of the Volta Basin countries on the integration of gender in the End-to-End Early Warning Systems for Flood Forecasting (E2E-EWS-FF) and integrated flood risk management (IFRM).

This is the basis of the initiative of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) on capacity building of the Volta Basin stakeholders on gender mainstreaming in the E2E-EWS-FF and IFRM.

The last two training sessions were held in Mali and Côte d’Ivoire.
