A Visegrad funded training, 'Taking Action for Integrated Drought Management in Armenia,' was held in Yerevan, Armenia from October 11th to 12th, 2023.

The workshop was held on Friday, 28 April 2023 at the World Bank Building, Hindustan Times House, New Delhi, India.

Sri Lanka finds it challenging to achieve the overarching goal of the Paris Agreement mainly due to limited financing. The flexible financial solutions offered by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) plays a pivotal role in such instances, for the developing nations to access international climate financing. Yet, Sri Lanka has only one GCF accredited Direct Access Entity (DAE) which further reduces the opportunity to access adequate funding for climate action. The Global Water Partnership South Asia led 2nd Sri Lanka GCF Readiness Project facilitated workshop on Gender Policy Development and Gender Mainstreaming in GCF Activities held targeting pipeline DAEs resulted additional two nominated DAEs successfully submitting their applications to GCF.

In order to contribute to the reflections towards the adoption legal basis for the establishment and composition of Local Water Committees (LWCs) which are local body for water resource management in a river basin, CWP-Benin in collaboration with the General Directorate for Water (DGEau), organized on 28 and 29 January 2020 a workshop for exchanges on the establishment of Local Water Committees.

This event showcases various drought management initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean. It brings together experts, policy makers, and scientists who will share how droughts impact and manifest themselves in their respective countries and localities.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), Global Water Partnership has interviewed women in the water community across the Network on their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women.

GWP-CAf has contributed to the creation of five (05) Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) in five countries in the sub-region: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Sao Tome and Principe and Chad. The GWP-CAf network is composed of more than 200 public and private partners.
