Gender equity and women’s empowerment in water resources management is one of the cornerstones of the Dublin-Rio principles on which the GWP network is founded, and is accepted as one of the essential pillars to poverty eradication and sustainable development.

GEF/UNDP/GWP-Med project 'Enabling transboundary cooperation and integrated water resources management in the extended Drin River Basin' (GEF Drin Project) is making efforts to raise public awareness about the natural wealth and cultural heritage of the Drin River Basin through the celebration of Drin Day 2019.

GWP and the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO) entered a cooperation to capture experiences on IWRM.

The Pan Asia WACDEP aims to support regions and countries in Asia on the implementation of global and regional commitments under and the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). More specifically the programme aims to support countries on the implementation of water and adaptation related priorities under the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
