CONSULTANCY NOTICE - Programme Manager for Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in conjunction with the Global Water Partnership Organisation has developed a Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean to support the implementation of the water related actions outlined in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Implementation Plan for the Regional Framework for Achieving Development Resilient to Climate Change.

Strengthening technical skills in Africa to advance NAPs

Water security is a key issue for National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) to address in East African countries.

National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) partner the Global Water Partnership (GWP), in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy Analysis in Africa (CEEPA- University of Pretoria) and other partners, is providing support a number of African countries to integrate the economics of adaptation in the context of water security and climate resilient development.

GWP-Med holds national training for Tunisian Youth NGO members

GWP-Med, along with Bewater Project partner, INRGREF, organised a national training in Zaghouan, Tunisia, for 30 Tunisian Youth NGO members active in water resources management issues, on November, 13th-14th, in order to raise their capacity to address the challenge of sustainable water resources management under climate change constraints.

Improving Water Availability in Costa Rica

GWP Costa Rica has been invited to participate in a pilot project on the improvement of the availability of water. About 61% of the country’s 4.3 million people are located in urban areas, and while there has been significant progress in the past decade in expanding access to water supply and sanitation, the sector faces key challenges in low sanitation connections, poor service quality, and low cost recovery.

20 Years of Water Cooperation in Central Asia

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (ICWC) among Central Asian countries, a Central Asian International Research and Practice Conference took place 20-21 September 2012 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to discuss past experience and future challenges of water cooperation in the region. GWP Central Asia and Caucasus, which celebrated its 10 years at the conference, has been instrumental in regional water cooperation and took active part in the conference.
