Response to Svenska Dagbladet’s article published on 18 October (Partners)

At Global Water Partnership (GWP), we wish to address, clarify and correct the information presented in Svenska Dagbladet's (SvD) recent article regarding our partner database, published on 18 October. The SvD article presents a misleading view of GWP’s operations by focusing solely on one category of partners, misrepresenting key facts, and failing to provide accurate information to its readers about how our organisation works and how it makes effective use of development aid funding.

Building Capacity for Climate-Resilient River Water Quality Management in Malaysia

On 7–8 October 2025, water professionals and practitioners gathered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a hands-on workshop aimed at strengthening national capacity in river water quality management. The two-day training was jointly organized by the Malaysian Water Partnership (MyWP), the Global Water Partnership Malaysia (MyGWP), and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia, with implementation support from the MyGWP Secretariat, DID Malaysia, and a hired consultant and trainer.

Africa’s Water Investment Scorecard Shows Progress, But Underscores Urgent Need to Scale Finance and Delivery

Africa’s leaders have placed water and sanitation at the heart of the continent’s development agenda, with a commitment to mobilise at least USD 30 billion annually for climate-resilient water security and WASH services by 2030. The AIP-PIDA Water Investment Scorecard, endorsed to strengthen accountability and engagement with investors, has become a primary instrument to track progress and guide action.

On 26-27 November 2024, Bratislava welcomed youth leaders, water management experts, and key stakeholders for the DANUrely Roundtable: Empowering the Next Generation in Water Management. Hosted at the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU), this two-day event united participants from across the Danube region to explore innovative solutions for water challenges and foster collaboration between generations.
