After the meetings of the stakeholders of Côte d'Ivoire, Benin and Ghana, those of Burkina Faso met from 14 to 16 December 2022 in Ouagadougou and those of Mali from 21 to 23 December 2022 in Bamako for the national workshop of the stakeholders for the planning of the flood and drought risk management strategy in the Volta basin.

“Integrated water resources management says it all. We have to talk about the inter-dependencies of water. Water is life, we say, and it really connects to everything … If water is connected to everything, we have to act on that, but we shy away from the real understanding of what water means … either because of its complexity … or because it is connected to past practices and vested interests.”

The Government of Eswatini is engaging national stakeholders on financing strategies for the 15 prioritized water-related climate technologies in the country.

In 2020, Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) together with UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net, operates the SDG 6 IWRM Support Program, to support 60 countries in implementing the survey.

On 19 and 20 May 2022, a workshop was held in Conakry to restitute and validate the results of the study mission on "The realization of the prospective diagnosis of the Fouta Djallon Massif along with the analysis of opportunities and the proposal of options/priorities for the restoration of the degraded ecosystems of the Massif".

The report on the progress on IWRM in the Asia-Pacific region is based on the national consultations held last year to assess the implementation of SDG 6.5.1. Based on the analysis of country responses to the 2020 Data Drive on that indicator, as well as interviews with focal points and an online Learning Exchange, we are pleased to present the "Progress on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Asia-Pacific Region 2021: Learning exchange on monitoring and implementation towards SDG 6.5.1" .  The report was launched online to coincide with the Stockholm Water Week 2021, during the Asia Focus session: Accelerating inclusive water governance to advance sustainable development, on 25 August 2021. The GCF 2021 Readiness Country Proposal for the Central African Republic has been approved by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) with a grant of USD 443.130 awarded to the government to advance the country's programme by supporting the National Designated Authority (NDA) and country stakeholders in program development for climate finance.

The Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition seeks to provide a unique opportunity for young persons from the Caribbean, aged 18 to 34 years, to pitch innovative and impactful water-related project ideas to support better water resources management in their community, country or the Caribbean region.
