In an event on the margins of the World Leaders Summit at COP26, former Tanzanian leader and Chair of Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and Africa Coordination, H.E. President Jakaya Kikwete called on the international community to support the establishment of an International High-Level Panel on Water Investments for Africa, which is urgently needed to accelerate investments in water security on the continent.
Phase 2 Niger of the Mekrou Project financed by the European Union is being implemented in the Niger portion of the Mekrou river basin by GWP-WA in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Sanitation through SP/PANGIRE NIGER and CWP Niger.

The value of water is greater than its price – water has enormous and complex value for our households, food, culture, health, education, economics and the integrity of our natural environment. Without a comprehensive understanding of water’s true, multidimensional value, it will be challenging to safeguard this critical resource for the benefit of people, environment, and economic development.
The Indonesia Water Coalition (IWC) that officially established through the charter signing ceremony on the 29 January 2021 sees World Water Day as an important milestone to achieve water security in Indonesia, which aligns with its vision. Since its establishment in January 2021, the coalition has been focusing on initiating multi-stakeholder collaboration to tackle the growing water challenges jointly. To leverage best practices from each company and organization, we are inviting the coalition’s founding members to share their commitments, achievements, and future-plans to the public via online sharing sessions between 22-31 March 2021. As one of the founding members, Fany Wedahuditama, Regional Coordinator for Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) shared these discussion topic on the 29 March 2021.
An innovative first of its kind workshop for Albania on Wastewater Management in the context of Circular Economy was organised in July 2022. It provided participants with a 360o view on the benefits and opportunities for synergies across sectors in the proper management of Wastewater.
Multi stakeholders involved in Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) vowed their commitment and sustainability initiatives and acceleration of collaborations to restore land and water resources in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho during the ReNOKA Operational Planning (OP) process in Maseru.The stakeholders from NGO’s, private and public sectors, made this commitment after coming together to discuss the issues of natural resources management and pledged to work together during a two-day workshop that began on 23 November 2022.
