IWD 2022: Celebrating women’s contribution to building a sustainable tomorrow

To commemorate the 2022 International Women’s Day which is celebrated under the theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, GWP -Central Africa spotlights three women who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all. We asked them about what inspired them as women, to join the fight against climate change in their different scope of work plus their contributions so far to climate adaptation. MOOC on Transboundary Freshwater Security Enters Second Year with More Language Versions

The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on transboundary freshwater security opened in August 2020. A year on, the MOOC has attracted over 2,300 participants from 150 countries, and the course is confirmed for another year on the same platform – with more language versions in the making to reach an even greater audience, and with more interactive events to engage participants. Chinese video subtitles are already available, and several other translations are under preparation.

GWP-WA trains on mainstreaming gender equality in IWRM implementation and monitoring

As part of the implementation of the Regional Partnership on Water and Environment in Central and West Africa (PREE) project, GWP West & Central Africa and IUCN Regional Offices for Central and West Africa organized a regional training workshop on the theme "Concepts, approaches and tools for mainstreaming Gender in IWRM Implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation" from 5 to 7 May 2021 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Chutes de Booué et Tsengue-Leledi : Les études lancées

Les études pour la réalisation des aménagements hydroélectriques de Booué et Tsengue-Leledi ont été lancées au cours d’un atelier de 48 heures à Libreville. Financées à près de 757 millions de francs CFA par la Banque africaine de développement, ces études prendront fin en février 2020.
