Mozambique and Zimbabwe commit to tackling escalating challenges in the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save River Basins

The governments of Mozambique and Zimbabwe have pledged their commitment to tackling social, economic, and environmental challenges on the increase in the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save (BUPUSA) River Basins, shared exclusively by the two countries. The commitment was expressed through the signing of the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) for the BUPUSA Watercourses by ministers for water in the two countries, on 29 November 2024. The 10-year SAP was developed by the two governments with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and technical support from the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Grenadian Terrisha Walcott-Pierre Completes GWP-C WAY Internship in Jamaica

Terrisha Walcott-Pierre, a dedicated Youth Ambassador for the Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C), and Public Health Professional, proudly completed a one-week internship in Jamaica from March 2nd to March 10th, 2024, as part of the GWP-C's Caribbean Water Academy for Youth (GWP-C WAY) programme. Pierre-Walcott was sponsored by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean to continue her capacity building by completing her internship with the Water Resources Authority (WRA) of Jamaica.

Response to Svenska Dagbladet’s article published on 19 October (Finances and concluding statement)

The recent article in Svenska Dagbladet on 19 October, reporting on GWP’s finances, presents a biased and incorrect picture of the organisation. The article fails to take into account the major shift in development aid financing generally that has also affected GWP, and it does not report on the extensive development of programme and project financing that GWP has secured in recent years.
